The first step to a healthy, confident, and gorgeous smile is being proactive with dental care. Ascent Dental recommends dental exams and cleanings at least twice a year. Your first visit is an important opportunity to address your dental concerns and identify any problems with your mouth.

Your first visit is about you, your concerns, and your dental health.

At each appointment, we will examine your teeth and your gums for signs of cavities, periodontal disease, oral cancer screening, and any problems with your oral health. Dr. Zil Patel DMD, a board-certified general dentist, will assess your need for treatment or restorations utilizing state-of-the-art technology like digital X-rays, visual examination, and intraoral photos. After your examination, we will create an individualized treatment plan and answer your questions.

Are X-rays Necessary?

Ascent Dental incorporates modern dentistry with digital radiographs that minimize exposure to you. Digital X-rays allow the clinician to visualize problems that escape the eye and to obtain information about the root and jawbone. Digital X-rays assist in identifying problems such as cavities, bone loss, and abscesses. Digital X-rays are often necessary when pain, infection, or dental issue is present. Early detection of these problems often leads to less invasive treatments and lower costs financially. Digital X-rays aim to minimize the amount of exposure to each patient by limiting the usage to as low as reasonably possible for diagnosis. While they are safe for all patients, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should inform a member of Ascent Dental at the beginning of their appointment so that extra precautions can be taken. During your dental exam at Ascent Dental, digital X-rays help in a clear, concise, and accurate diagnosis to treat oral health issues.
